Abstract

UMKM play a vital role in economic development and poverty alleviation. As one of the centers of home industry in East Lampung Regency, Sadar Sriwijaya Village, Bandar Sribhawono District, offers a variety of traditional food products without preservatives. However, UMKM in this area still face obstacles in meeting the halal certification criteria required for business development. This community service activity aims to provide assistance to UMKM in their halal certification applications. The Participatory Action Research (PAR) method was used, targeting 10 UMKM in the village. This activity is part of the STAI Darussalam Community Service Program (KKN-T). The assistance focused on raising awareness about the importance of halal certification and assisting with the administrative process of the application, including fulfilling basic requirements such as obtaining a Home Industry Food Number (PIRT) from the Health Office and preparing other supporting documents. This assistance is expected to address the obstacles faced by UMKM in obtaining halal certification and increase the competitiveness of their products.
